Paper towels are obviously there to clean up spills because they can easily absorbs things. The reason is their cellulose fibers enable easy absorption. To keep vegies and greens fresh
You do not have to excel in rocket science to keep your vegies fresh and green in refrigerator. The everyday stuff we use like lettuce, curry leaves, herbs and such easily tend to wither to an unappealing brown and become dry within a couple of days. But next time you stop by a place where bulk room air fresheners, grab two three packs extra and your problem is solved. All what you have to do is add a well moist paper towel to the container/bag your vegies will be kept. The paper towel would act effectively to hold the moisture and retain a good degree of humidity inside the package. With this trick you can keep your vegies and such super fresh with no rotting and getting damp.
To get “off the oven fresh” bread
This is yet another amazing thing you can try out with paper towels. So get some paper towels from your good foaming hand soap to try this out. When we have a loaf of left over bread, we usually pop it in to the refrigerator to have it on another day. But when you take it out, most of the times you end up with a soggy inedible thing. The reason is it reacts with the moisture inside the refrigerator and finally comes out as I mentioned earlier. But if you wrap it with a paper towel, put it inside a bag and pop in, you will not have to regret. The paper towel will absorb the moisture and keep your loaf of bread fine. As I mentioned at the very beginning, the composition of paper towels contains a great deal of carbon and fiber. Do not just throw away the used paper towels now onwards but compose it.
